Who We Are

AirGuard was born from a simple mission: to make the air we breathe safer. Founded by engineers Chris and Ben—who bring over 40 years of experience, 15 patents, and real HVAC expertise—our team combines deep technical know-how with a passion for protecting homes and families.

Ben Lagrange

Ben Lagrange earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s in Mechanical Engineering, as well as an MBA, from Clemson University. A Six Sigma Black Belt, he spent 19 years at GE Power in design, quality, and reliability engineering. For the last eight of those years, he led Reliability Engineering, and later oversaw Power Plant Outage Engineering. His deep technical and leadership experience ensures AirGuard is built on proven reliability and real-world performance.

Chris Davidson

Chris holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Florida, an MBA from Brenau University, and advanced certifications in Medical Engineering, Data Analytics, and Six Sigma (Master Black Belt). Over his 20-year career with Kimberly-Clark and GE, he led operations and engineering teams, including serving as Quality and Senior Engineering Manager in Power Services. His expertise bridges health, data, and engineering to make AirGuard a trusted solution for indoor air safety.

Engineering a Next Generation Mold Solution

In 2019, Chris and Ben founded Blue Ridge Heating & Air, where they worked directly with homeowners every day. What they kept finding was alarming—mold hidden in crawlspaces and HVAC systems. Families had no idea it was there until it caused health problems or led to expensive remediation bills. Seeing these issues firsthand gave them unique insight into how unprotected most homes really are.

That experience inspired them to act. In 2024, they invented the patent-pending AirGuard device to help homeowners detect risks early—before small problems turn into dangerous, costly ones. And in 2025, they launched AirGuard to bring this breakthrough in indoor air safety to families everywhere.
